An exciting 2023 lies behind us. From rooftops, key handovers, school visits and a research project to awards for our projects, we have experienced a lot that we would like to look back on.

The year 2023 got off to a successful start with the purchase of the Silo Plus office complex in Vienna's 23rd district by Erste Immobilienfonds. As part of the “Silo Office Parks", the Silo Plus offers 10,400 sqm of state-of-the-art office space.

Our flagship project Taborama in Vienna's Nordbahn district with 213 privately financed condominiums was handed over in April. State-of-the-art facilities, a rooftop pool and sheep's wool as ecological interior insulation are the highlights of this project.

We celebrated the topping-out ceremony for two of our projects: Mein Statz in Neumarkt am Wallersee with ten privately financed condominiums and Plateau Alpin in Innsbruck-Igls with nine privately financed condominiums.

We not only build apartments and offices, but also educational campuses. We successfully handed over two of them to the City of Vienna in the summer: The Bildungscampus Landgutgasse in Vienna's 10th district offers a wide range of educational opportunities. A kindergarten with 12 groups, an all-day primary and secondary school with a total of 29 classes and a music school. The next handover took place in Vienna's 11th district at the Bildungscampus Heidemarie Lex-Nalis. 825 children and young people are looked after here in 12 kindergarten groups, 17 all-day primary school classes and four special school classes.

Four of our projects have received ÖGNI certification: Square One, Square Two, Silo Plus and DC Waterline.

We have also reached important milestones internationally: Thus, the construction of the Upper One in the center of Warsaw has begun. The new project comprises a target height of 131.5 m, 35,900 sqm of sustainable office space and 11,000 sqm of hotel space.

The Upper One is STRABAG Real Estate's new flagship project in Warsaw.

Expo Real, the international trade fair for real estate and investment, took place in Munich in October. As part of the STRABAG Group, we presented ourselves together with other Group companies with a CO2-neutral exhibition stand made of wood, true to the motto “Climate neutrality by 2040”.

Two milestones were reached in the DC Waterline project: This was followed in October by the topping-out ceremony for the Education Campus and the Musicflats as well as the laying of the foundation stone for the modern Innovation Campus. A mixed-use district will be built on the approximately 14,000 sqm site directly on the banks of the New Danube by 2025.

The annual Business Breakfast in November, which we organize as STRABAG Real Estate, is an integral part of the Viennese real estate world. At Tech Gate Vienna, news from the real estate world is discussed in a relaxed atmosphere and with a wonderful view, as well as trends and important topics. Guest speaker Birgit Gebhard provided interesting insights into the future challenges of developing new office properties.

Another highlight was the presentation of the results of the cross-sector Research Study RCC2 (Reduced Carbon Concrete) with Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler, which focused on the potential of innovative concrete mix designs for the decarbonization of concrete.

The year ended with another great award: Our flagship project Taborama was honored with the Global Architecture & Design Award 2023!

A lot happened in 2023 and we are looking forward to 2024, when there will be more major milestones to celebrate.
